Meet Our Therapists

Ashlee Dent

Ashlee is a graduate of Bay College’s massage therapy program. Communicating with clients and their needs to help guide her intuition, she combines many techniques to leave you feeling refreshed and whole. Compressions ranging from mild to deep, vibration and rocking, range of motion movement for joints, and Thai inspired stretching all combine to create space in your body, allowing tension to release and muscles and joints to increase functionality. In addition, Ashlee offers ashiatsu massage- a deeply therapeutic modality using feet to administer pressure, flow, and massage techniques. This modality is inherently very deep tissue, for the folks who feel as though they can just never receive the depth they need to administer change. All of her techniques start with a foundation of understanding nervous system patterns, and she works to meet yours where you are and help facilitate healing within that realm.
Curiosity and exploration are at the forefront of Ashlee’s mind when learning massage. Some notable teachers she has trained with include Tracey Windmill, of Colorado, for Nervous System Foundations and Sarga Silks; Al Poliarco of Madison, Wisconsin for ashiatsu; Oliver Chomarro of Grenada, Spain for Osteothai, and Sebastian Valla of France for table Thai.
Her intentions are to remind the areas of the body the spaces they can happily inhabit, leaving the body and mind feeling whole and relaxed again. Her goal is that you walk away feeling different than when you arrived, as if you’ve returned to the space that is your comfortable home. We only have one body in this life and we should love existing in it!

Ava Shurlow

Ava is a 2023 graduate of Bayshire beauty academy where she completed 700 hours of massage therapy training. She is also certified in reiki 1 and 2 and uses the knowledge of energy work to personalize her sessions to each clients needs. Her focus as a therapist is to integrate mind, body and spirit to optimize healing as well as to promote balance in and around the body.

Emily Schaefer

Emily is a 2024 graduate of Five Elements Therapy Academy in Houghton, MI where she completed 650 hours of massage therapy education. Here she gained knowledge on various massage techniques including myofascial release, prenatal, intro to craniosacral, trigger point therapy, intra-oral TMJD, and more. She implements a mix of this knowledge with intuition as she works with clients, taking into account everyone’s personal preferences and goals. Her aim is for you to leave feeling renewed mentally and physically, not just in the moment but also as the day carries on! Oftentimes we don’t realize the tension we’re carrying throughout our muscles. Letting go of that weight and feeling the way our bodies respond, in time, has the potential to change more than just muscle tissue.
